HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY, MALAENA-SLOAN!!!!

No huge birthday party this year. Big brother, Brock is home from school to celebrate with us! We are going to Chuck E. Cheese's but think we'll splurge for the adults and eat at Patti's at Kentucky Lake! I'm sure it will be a fun-filled day!!! Pictures to come!
This was one of the first pictures we ever saw of Malaena-Sloan. She was actually 4-days-old in this picture but you can just see the sassiness!
This is our little Sassy yesterday! How blessed we are having this child to LOVE!!!! Thank you Lord!!!!

Today, more than the others in the year, my mind thinks of Malaena-Sloan's birth mother. I am so grateful to her, and my mind wonders if she remembers the significance of this day?!! Surely she does. Instead of her feeling an emptiness, I pray God lets her feel full as she was selfless and gave her child a life with many more opportunities. Many of you may not realize this, but Guatemala is really in a HORRIBLE shape. Due to poor crops, there's a food shortage. Also, the adoptions provided a lot of income to that country. It's just a very sad thing, and today, I especially pray for our birth family. I pray that they have shelter and food. If it's God's plan for us to know these people on a personal level, I pray God's hand in opening the doors.
